RMA Gig Club at the World Pilot Gig Championships 2023

Six members of the Club attended the 32nd World Pilot Gig Championships on the Isles of Scilly over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

450 crews using 146 Traditional Cornish Pilot Gigs battled for the title of World Champions in Supervets, Veterans & Open categories in ladies and men's events. Dispite heavy fog causing the cancellation of two races, rain, rough seas and a major tangle of boats in one race the event was wholeheartedly enjoyed by all.

The Club will undoubtedly be entering crews next year and are already seeking accommodation on the Islands for the early May Bank Holiday 24, any contacts would be gratefully received.
