During our enforced time off the water due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our Club wasn’t idle as can be seen from the developments it has enjoyed. One surprising thing (pleasantly surprising that is!) is the number of people who expressed an interest in having a go at our great sport.

During the 6 months of rowing inactivity, our Chairman found himself with quite an extensive list of men and ladies keen to try gig rowing for themselves. Once the situation allowed, our Club Coach, Bob Bryant, formulated a plan and timetable to enable the first ‘rookies’ to come down to the Camber at RM Stonehouse Barracks and join some of our members to row gig ‘Trafalgar’ and see for themselves how existing and beneficial gig rowing can be.
