We’re back on the water!
Our last row before the Covid-19 pandemic affected the entire planet was on the 1st March 2020 - 201 days later, we returned to the water.
Pent up demand meant that two thirds of our membership made themselves available to crew our GRP gig ‘Trafalgar’. Unfortunately, the conditions were not on our side as there were both strong winds and an adverse tide meant rowing conditions would be hazardous out in Plymouth Sound.
However, not to be deterred, we restricted our activities to the Millbay Basin which meant that we could reacquaint ourselves with our boat and retrieve our technique. Yes, there were a lot of rusty rowers out there but everyone was elated to get back out on the water.
What was very evident was how those core muscles had been terribly under utilised during lockdown!
